Florian and Finn are both playing soccer this fall. Unlike the spring season, we've had beautiful weather so far, which is nice, because their practice and games are not at the same time.
The boys are part of the i9 Sports league which values children having fun at sports and expects parents to be positive participants.
Florian took right to it. He is on a team with some of his friends from school and has made great progress since the spring. He clearly likes the physical action and is less afraid to go for it. He is a good tactical player with a preference for the defense. He also uses a trick learned from Opa earlier this year in which he stops the ball and kicks it backwards.
Finn was not so sure about this entire soccer things. He was rather shy in the beginning, which is unusual for him. He was all decked out by Onkel Joni, who makes sure the boys have everything they need for their games.
The teams are co-ed and he has several girls on his team who like to take the lead.Ironically the other Finn on the team is also shy. The second week was much better, but still a little on the shy side. Finn is a very good kicker and at the same time, is more comfortable with defense. He scored at every game so far and we hope that he will be more comfortable as we go forward.
